In addition to her role in community outreach and development, Raffa filled a gap in HR operations for a three-month span in 2020. She has also helped to support several other areas in need. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Raffa also worked inside the hospital helping to screen patients and visitors and continues to work at the hospital COVID-19 vaccine clinics.

“Raffa became an integral member of our hospital team the day she arrived. Her passion for the hospital and its mission has led to increased efficiency and new and innovative ideas. She truly lives the values of the hospital and richly deserves recognition as the hospital employee of the month,” stated the announcement.

Upon hearing that she had been chosen as the Employee of the Month, Raffa stated, “I feel extremely honored to be recognized as the March Employee of the Month. Since living on the Outer Banks for a summer in college, it was always a dream to return and work at The Outer Banks Hospital.”

She continued, “The reality is even better than the dream as I thoroughly love what I do every day, alongside world-class colleagues, all while making a difference in our community. The team we have here at The Outer Banks Hospital is unmatched and this recognition could easily be shared among all of my teammates. I want to personally thank my work family for their nominations and support since day one; all of the successes would not be possible without them by my side!”
