June 1, 1931 – April 19, 2021

Manns Harbor, NC – Roger Cleveland Gard, 89, of Manns Harbor, NC passed peacefully to his heavenly home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, April 19, 2021, at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center.

A native of Manns Harbor, he was born June 1, 1931, to the late Sibyl Midgett Gard and Cleveland “Key” Gard.

A veteran of the Korean War, Roger served his country honorably with the United States Army. He retired from the NCDOT – Ferry Division and continued to serve his community as a pianist for many years at Manteo First Assembly of God.

Roger is survived by his sister, Lina Gard Briggs; nephew, Gary Gard (Louann); niece, Debbie     Carlucci (Jeff); seven grandnieces and nephews; and seventeen great-grandnieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 23, 2021, at Manteo First Assembly. The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to the service. A graveside committal will follow the funeral at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Manns Harbor.
