Dare school board meets Tuesday

The Dare County Board of Education meets in special and regular sessions on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at First Flight High School.

The special closed session starts at 3:45 p.m. The board will meet with its attorney in closed session to preserve the attorney-client privilege and to consider confidential personnel matters.

The regular monthly meeting of the board follows at 5 p.m.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions on mass gatherings, the meetings will be held virtually for the general public and broadcast live on the Dare County Schools website at daretolearn.org. A form to submit public comments for the regular monthly meeting will also be available on the Dare County Schools website 48 hours prior to the meeting.

Agenda items include reports from Superintendent John Farrelly about summer learning programs and graduation.

The board will consider approving the proposed budget for fiscal year 2022.

Under new business, 11 proposed policy manual updates are listed on the agenda.
