February 1, 1932 – May 12, 2021

Dan Weaver McDonald, 89, formerly of Fayetteville, and more recently of Stantonsburg, NC, died Wednesday, May 12, 2021.

Dan was born in Cameron, NC on February 1, 1932, to the late Daniel and Annie Boggs McDonald. He honorably served his country with the United States Navy.

Dan loved to garden and go “plugging” at the pond. Lately, he enjoyed playing Bingo at the Senior Center with his friends in Stantonsburg.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at Soundside Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pastor Connie Newton will officiate.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Surviving are a son Jeffrey McDonald (Rebecca); a daughter Lisa McDonald Jeanes; six grandchildren, Quinn Grant, Elijah Grant, Ellenie Jeanes, Curtis Riegel, Samantha Riegel and Larry Riegel, and one surviving sister, Ann McDonald Yarboro.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Soundside Missionary Baptist Church Scholarship Fund, 2607 Soundside Road, Columbia, NC 27925
