Vernon Dan Lewark passed away peacefully at Edward Poe Hospice Center in Titusville, Florida on April 15, 2021 surrounded by family. He was a native of Manteo, NC, born September 19th, 1946 to the late William Dan Lewark and Beatrice Doucet Lewark. He was preceded in death by his wife Donna Marie Lewark, and a brother William Gary Lewark.
He was a veteran of the US Navy (Aviation Machinist), serving on aircraft carriers during the Vietman War, and a Heavy Equipment Supervisor at Misener Marine in bridge building. He was also a longtime commercial fisherman and loved being on the water all his life.
He leaves to cherish his memory a son Van Lewark (Jessica) and daughters Christie Migdalski (Brian) and Sonia Sawhill (Bruce), a brother Fred Lewark (Jamey) and a sister Rita Lewark Pledger. Grandchildren: Ashley Migdalski (Tommy), Heather Migdalski, Ethan Sawhill and Oliver Lewark and a great-grandson Bryson Berning; nieces: Sherry Meador, Julia Meadows, Dawn Fisher and a nephew, Rusty Lewark. He was preceded in death by two special nieces, Danna Goodwin and Wendy Lewark.
A family memorial service will be held at a later date at Manteo Cemetery.
