Mary Meads Ivey

Mary Meads Higgins Ivey, 87, of Elizabeth City, died July 15, 2021 at Elizabeth City Health and Rehabilitation. She was born August 26, 1933 to the late James Moody Meads and Sadie Whedbee Meads and was the widow of Robert Ivey and Ralph Marshall Higgins Sr.

She is survived by sons Wesley Higgins (Becky) and Dwight Higgins; daughter Mary Ellen Lassiter (Danny); sisters Dorothy Todd and Nell Lacy; brother Grant Meads; seven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by son Ralph Marshall Higgins Jr.; sister Gertie Dail; and brothers J. B. Meads, Duty Meads and Joseph Meads.

A funeral service was held July 20. Twiford Memorial Chapel, Elizabeth City is serving the family. www.TwifordFH.com.
