Dare County Schools releases results of face coverings survey

On Thursday afternoon, July 29, 2021, Dare County Schools published survey results from parents/guardians and staff members about face coverings.

The system reports that over 1,500 parents/guardians and 375 staff members responded.

Dare County Schools Superintendent John Farrelly wrote, “thank you to the many participants who also shared comments in the narrative section of the survey. All of those responses are being reviewed by my senior leadership team and have been forwarded to the members of the Dare County Board of Education. I will provide the public with a summary of all comments in my presentation during the upcoming meeting.”

The board will meet next Thursday, Aug. 5 at 5 p.m. in a special called meeting.

Farrelly indicated the school board will consider all of the most recent updates and protocols in the StrongSchoolsNC Public Health Toolkit.

The meeting will take place in the gymnasium at First Flight High School. Access will also provided through a livestream via YouTube.
