Wanda Dale Burrus Daniels

June 11, 1935 – August 27, 2021

Manteo – Wanda Dale Burrus Daniels, 86, of Manteo, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her children on Friday, August 27, 2021. Wanda was born in East Lake on June 11, 1935, to the late Jaccie Farrow Burrus Jr. and Thelma Louise Mann Burrus.

Wanda was a faithful servant of God who had genuine love and concern for others. She was an active member of Mount Olivet United Methodist Church. She loved her church family especially the Joy Class and Nannie Midgett Circle.

Wanda lived an amazing life with childhood sweetheart for over 60 years, Lt. Col. Moncie Lee “Punk” Daniels III, who preceded her in death. She was a strong force and supporter as a military wife, coach’s wife and county commissioner’s wife. She had an inviting heart and an open home. She touched many young and not so young lives.

Surviving Wanda are her two sons Moncie Lee “Mickey” Daniels IV (Chris) and Cameron Todd Daniels, a daughter Teri Allison Daniels Simpson (Rex); four grandchildren Tori Daniels Baldwin (Aaron), Shea Daniels, Wesley Carmichael (Samantha), and Cathryn Dale Daniels; great-grandsons Cameron and Jackson Baldwin and sweet baby sister Ali; brother Jaccie Farrow “Jay” Burrus III (Kathy); her dear cousin Barbara Ann Foxwell and sister-in-law Pam Daniels Jones (Ralph). Wanda also had very special nieces and close friends. Wanda was a Godly, loving, and loyal wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was always involved and available for those she loved.
