Gwendolyn “Gwen” Brinn Midgette, 83, of Beulaville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 15, 2021. A native of Hyde County, she was the widow of Joseph Dickson Midgette and the daughter of the late Fred B. Brinn and Wilma Gibbs Brinn. She was formerly married to Carley Cawin Gibbs. She was a housewife who enjoyed tending to her children, making the home full of love.
She is survived by her children, Benjamin Gibbs (Rose) of Beulaville and Lorann Coder (Jeffrey) of Tracy City, TN; sister, Maclyn Gibbs; grandchildren, Steven Gibbs, Jeremy Gibbs, Tabitha Nelson, Bobby Asby III, Coiwen Asby, Kyle Coder, Joseph Evans, Isaac Coder and Rachel Coder; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and spouses, she was preceded in death by her two sons, Carly J. Gibbs and Fred B. Gibbs; and sisters, Teresa Hyde and Paula Hampton.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at 4 p.m. at The People’s Church in Kinston, NC with Rev. Jerry Pike officiating.
