Ted Lewis Cahoon, 84, of Edenton and formerly of Kilkenny, died October 24, 2021 at Vidant Chowan Hospital.

Ted was born in Tyrrell County on April 15, 1937 to the late William Thomas and Martha Cartwright Cahoon. He served as Sergeant First Class in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on December 4 at Poplar Neck Farm Shop, 351 Poplar Neck Road, Edenton. The family will receive friends following the service.

Survivors include son Michael “Teddy” Cahoon (Kathie); daughter Sylvia C. Salzer; grandchildren Patricia Wagner (Nick), Thomas Cahoon (Emily) and Scott Chapman; 11 great-grandchildren and brother Delmo Cahoon (Sharon).

He was preceded in death by wife Sigrid Christa “Chris” Cahoon, daughter Julia Lenora Cahoon, granddaughter Katherine Elizabeth Cahoon, brothers Thomas, Edward, Dennis and Delbert Cahoon and sisters Edith Norman, Alice Jones, Ida Cutrell, Etta Mae Cutrell and Murdie Hudson
