The Board of Education for Hyde County Schools updated the face covering policy at its meeting on Tuesday, November 2, 2021. Starting Monday, November 15, face coverings became optional for students and staff who are fully vaccinated.

“Schools will be compiling a database of student vaccinations,” stated a Hyde County Schools press release. “School administration will designate staff members and procedures for this process. Booster shots do not apply.”

Athletes will not be required to wear face coverings while actively participating in their sport. Campus visitors will still be asked to wear face coverings while indoors, including sporting events.
