A text alert system was announced on Nov. 10, 2021 for the national parks in Dare County, including Cape Hatteras National Seashore, Fort Raleigh National Historic Site and Wright Brothers National Memorial. Text alerts may include park operational updates, conditions, information on educational programs and more.

“This new communications tool will benefit both vacationers and year-round residents in Dare and Hyde counties,” said David Hallac, superintendent of the National Parks of Eastern North Carolina.

Sign up for text alerts by texting NPSOBX to 333111. Standard text message and data rates may apply.
