The Outer Banks Woman’s Club dedicated its first Trex bench at Dowdy Park on Monday, November 15 to coincide with America Recycles Day.
Club members and the community recycled 500 pounds of plastic bags to receive this bench from Trex and donate to the community. “We’d like to thank everyone for helping us achieve our goal, especially our community partners, Joe Lamb Realty, Publix, Outer Banks Family YMCA, Baum Center, Outer Banks Brewing Station, Harris Teeter and Roanoke Island Woman’s Club,” stated a club representative.
Plastic bags can be dropped off for the club’s second bench at Outer Banks Famly YMCA, located at 300 S. Croatan Road in Nags Head, Baum Center, located at 300 Mustian Street in Kill Devil Hills or Dare County Center, located at 950 Marshall C. Collins Drive in Manteo.
