Dare County Sheriff’s Office releases December blotter of felony crimes

The Dare County Sheriff’s Office has issued its blotter of felony crimes for December 2021.

Of the 11 crimes reported, nine occurred on Roanoke Island, one was in Colington and one was in Buxton.

Dec. 1: Discharge a Firearm within Enclosure to Incite Fear. 300 block of Pond Rd., Wanchese. Subject shot a firearm several times, within a residence, with the intent to incite fear in others. Subject was arrested and numerous firearms were seized.

Dec. 4: Breaking and Entering Boat. 1000 block of 64 264 Hwy S., Roanoke Island. Electronics stolen from boat. Latent evidence collected. Under investigation.

Larceny. 40000 block of NC 12 Hwy., Buxton. Clothing reported stolen. Subject chose to pursue the issue themselves.

Dec. 9: Breaking and Entering. 100 block of Timberlin Way, Roanoke Island. Nothing stolen. Latent evidence collected. Under investigation.

Dec. 14: Obtaining Property by False Pretenses. 1000 block of 64 264 Hwy N., Roanoke Island. Laptop computer stolen as part of a re-shipping scam. The laptop was recovered.

Dec. 19: Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicle. 1000 block of E R Daniels Rd., Wanchese. Unknown person stole various items from an unlocked vehicle.

Dec. 21: Corporate Malfeasance. 100 block of St Clair Rd., Colington. Corporation assets stolen. Under investigation.

Dec. 23: Obtaining Property by False Pretenses. 100 block of Brakewood Rd., Roanoke Island. Laptop computer stolen as part of a re-shipping scam. Unauthorized credit card transactions. Under investigation.

Dec. 28: Larceny of Chose in Action. 300 block of Water Plant Rd., Roanoke Island. Check stolen then cashed. Under investigation.

Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicle. 900 block of Marshall C Collins Dr., Roanoke Island. Unknown person stole various tools from an unlocked vehicle. Under investigation.

Dec. 30: Assault on Detention Officers. 1000 block of Driftwood Dr., Roanoke Island. Two detention officers assaulted and injured by an inmate. The inmate was charged for those offenses.
