Carolyn Roughton Evans, 89, of Elizabeth City, died January 31, 2022 in the Elizabeth City Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Evans was born in Elizabeth City on August 1, 1932 to the late Eunice Theron and Betty Gregory Roughton.

Survivors include husband K. Morgan Evans, son Gregory Morgan Evans (Belynda); brother Wilson L. Roughton; grandchildren Gregory Morgan Evans II (Katrina) and Thomas Edward Evans; and one great-grandson.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on February 3 in Twiford Memorial Chapel with private family burial in the Old Hollywood Cemetery. Friends and family will be received in the lobby of the funeral home Thursday from 2 p.m. until funeral time.
