I hope all of you who have doctors in the area are aware that the Corporation who now owns the hospital and family practices in this area are deleting patients who they have not seen in 3 years. To compound this they will consider you a new patient who they are NOT accepting now.
My case is in fact one of those poor souls who have been going to a family practice for 11 years but because my husband has not seen his doctor for 3 years he is now considered a new patient. Yes, not taking new patients. What makes it worse is he really needs a family physician now as he has had a major surgery.
My advice is to go to your doctor even if you are not sick. Don’t get deleted and become a new patient. Check this policy with your doctor.
So, what do you do now? Do you go to the emergency room or Urgent Care or go 50-80 miles to find a doctor?
