Together with the Currituck Chamber of Commerce, The Sweet Sunflour bakery and Outback Candy Store held a ribbon cutting ceremony recently to celebrate the businesses’ official opening.
Beth Walston and Tiffany Walston Woodhouse, a mother-daughter team, bring a down-to-earth approach to the new bakery and candy store in Grandy.
“Tiffany had been looking forward to bringing a neighborhood bakery to the community. The current location was a little larger than she required, so her mother Beth said she had always wanted to do a nostalgic candy store with old-fashioned candy, hence the name Outback Candy Store,” stated a Currituck Chamber press release.
Outback Candy Store sells old-fashioned traditional candy, ice cream, milkshakes, preserves, fresh whipped butter, hoop cheese, salad dressings, dip mixes, sodas and a variety of other products. The Sweet Sunflour offers custom cakes, wedding cakes, cupcakes, cookies, pies and other baked goods.
The candy store and bakery are located at 6322 Caratoke Highway in Grandy.
