Dolphins at play in the water surrounding Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head

This bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops truncatus) swims past the end of Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head with six of seven other dolphins.
These playful animals can be seen from the pier year-round and sometimes put on a show riding waves and leaping out of the sea.
Around two dozen swam past last Friday throughout the day.
