Causey presents checks to Hyde volunteer fire departments

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey recently visited volunteer fire departments throughout North Carolina to distribute grant checks made possible by a contribution made by Blue Cross Blue Shield North Carolina. Causey, who also serves as the State Fire Marshal, visited Hyde County in February to present such checks to the county’s six volunteer fire departments.

The presentations were made during a small reception at the Swan Quarter Volunteer Fire Department (SQVFD). Also present was North Carolina Senator Bob Steinburg.

Prior to the presentations, Causey stopped by the site of SQVFD’s new Lake Landing Substation to observe the progress made since he had been on hand at the groundbreaking for this new facility in July 2021.
