The sixth annual Southern Living ‘South’s Best’ awards issue (April 2022) hit newsstands recently and Corolla has landed in the #5 spot for Best Family Getaway destination in the south, as voted by the publication’s readers.

“This annual ‘South’s Best’ issue celebrates the people, places, and communities that make the South more vibrant than ever,” stated a press release from the Currituck County Department of Travel & Tourism. “Touted as its ‘most comprehensive list yet,’ Southern Living introduced three new categories in 2022 – including family getaways – that appeal to a wider variety of interests, at the suggestion of its readers. Corolla’s inclusion on this list marks the only North Carolina destination represented.”
