The 31st Kelly’s St. Patrick’s Parade was back on the Beach Road on Sunday afternoon, March 20 after a COVID-related hiatus. A projected 12,000 people gathered to enjoy the popular event. Co-grand marshals were Coastal Humane Society and The Outer Banks Hospital.
Celebrated with awards for their parade entries were:
Best Overall: NC Aquarium Roanoke Island
Best Float: Dare County Special Olympics
2nd Place Float: Jolly Roger Restaurant
3rd Place Float: US Submarine Vets
1st Place Band/Music: Bear Grass Charter School Marching Bears
2nd Place Band/Music: First Flight Marching Nighthawks
3rd Place Band/Music: Tidewater Pipe & Drum
Best Unit: Cats 5 Jeepers
2nd Place Unit: Coastal Humane
3rd Place Unit: Cape Henry Model A Ford Club
