Faith Baptist Church of Manteo, located at 1037 Burnside Drive, will hold a Community Movie Night every second Friday of each month beginning April 8 for an evening of food and contemporary faith-based films.

On April 8, the Outer Banks community is invited to view “The Passion of the Christ.” The event announcement notes that the film “depicts the brutality of Jesus’ crucifixion” and includes “the whipping, the nailing to the cross, the piercing crown of thorns — Extremely violent, and powerful; for mature teens and older (Rated R).”

Activities for children age 4 and up are planned in the church’s social hall.

Pizza and soft drinks will be served at 6 p.m. with the movie beginning at 6:45 p.m.
