Recreational dolphin limit being reduced

North Carolina Marine Fisheries Proclamation FF-27-2022 reduces the recreational vessel limit for dolphin in N.C. Coastal Fishing Waters in compliance with the South Atlantic Fishery Management Council’s Dolphin and Wahoo Fishery Management Plan.

The effective time and date are 12:01 a.m. on Monday, May 2, 2022.

It is unlawful to possess more than 54 dolphin per vessel per day, except headboat vessels with a valid U.S. Coast Guard Certificate of Inspection may possess 10 dolphin per paying customer.

The previous possession limit was 60 dolphin per vessel. The headboat vessel limit did not change.
