A white-eyed verio (Verio giseus) was recently seen on Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge.
The birds have a pretty song and are not shy about frequently sharing it.
Their diet consists mainly of insects and small invertebrates such as butterflies, grasshoppers, flies, caterpillars, spiders and beetles.
