Angela Conner Tawes appointed to Cape Hatteras Electric Cooperative board

The Board of Directors of Cape Hatteras Electric Cooperative has appointed Angela Conner Tawes to fill the district-at-large seat that was left open after the recent passing of Elvin Hooper, who had served on the board for 37 years.

Conner Tawes will complete Hooper’s three-year term, which began in May of 2021 and runs through May of 2024.

Conner Tawes is the president of Conner’s Cape Hatteras Supermarket, Inc. and a lifelong resident of Hatteras Island. She holds bachelor’s degrees in political science and speech communications from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is well known for her leadership in the community and has over 27 years of experience in business management.
