National Night out returns to the Town of Manteo on Tuesday, August 2, 2022.
The free, fun community-police awareness event is set for 4 to 7 p.m. at Cartwright Park on Bideford Street adjacent to the Keeper Richard Etheridge Statue and Pea Island Cookhouse Museum.
The afternoon event features food and fun. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided by the Wanchese Lion’s Club. Games and activities for all ages are planned.
Joining in the event will be other local community groups, such as the Roanoke Island Volunteer Fire Department, Dare County Emergency Medical Services, Dare County Sheriff’s Office and Dare County Schools.
National Night Out is a “national community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships.”
