Hope was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Blake, and Jenny Barrington; sisters, Nell Cox, Selma Watson, and Carolyn Cutrell; brother, Vernon Barrington; sons, Ronnie Sawyer, Mike Sawyer, Timmy Wright, Johnny Wright Jr., and Danny Wright; granddaughter, Melissa Sawyer; and grandson, Bryan Reed.

Hope was a devoted wife and mother. She proudly managed her family’s business, Wanchese Marina, for many years caring for her employees as if they were a part of her family. She enjoyed watching the community gather in the Marina to share fishing tales and fellowship. She loved spending time in the sand, most notably at Jennette’s Pier, which holds many memories of her with her children. Her family was her world, and she would move mountains for them. She was beautiful, caring, and resilient. She loved going to the beach and enjoyed spending time with family, especially her Sissy. She was a longtime member of the Roanoke Island Presbyterian Church.

A very special thank you to Kathy Spencer, Pat Poplin, Tamara Grantham, and Carolina Stetson for the endless love, care, and devotion provided to Hope.

He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge. His faithfulness will be your shield and protection. Psalm 91:4
