Dare County Sheriff’s Office blotter for July released

The Dare County Sheriff’s Office has released its felony crime blotter for July 2022.

Ten cases are presented. Roanoke Island has four cases, East Lake two, and one case each in Salvo, Buxton, Rodanthe and Colington.

On July 11, two firearms were stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Gareth Circle on Roanoke Island. The case remains under investigation.

July 2022 felony blotter for unincorporated Dare County includes:

July 4: Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicle. 700 block of Sir Walter Raleigh St., Roanoke Island. Vehicle window was broken and nothing was stolen. Evidence collected. Under investigation.

July 5: Common Law Robbery. 13000 block of US 64 Hwy., East Lake. Wallet stolen from a person during a dispute. Victim declined to prosecute.

July 11: Larceny. 100 block of Gareth Circle, Roanoke Island. Two firearms stolen from a residence. Under investigation.

July 13: Breaking and Entering and Larceny. 27000 block of Spritsail Court, Salvo. Unknown subject broke into a house under construction, vandalized the residence and stole a beach chair. Under investigation.

Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicle. 900 block of Harriot St., Roanoke Island. Car keys stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

July 17: Larceny. 1000 block of 64 264 Hwy. South, Roanoke Island. Report of a stolen boat trailer. Upon investigation it was determined to have been towed by NC Wildlife.

July 19: Larceny. 46000 block of Flowers Ridge Rd., Buxton. Jewelry reported stolen from a vehicle. Under investigation.

July 20: Obtaining Property by False Pretenses. 14000 block of US 64 Hwy., East Lake. Fraudulent Cash App withdrawals. Under investigation.

July 23: Obtaining Property by False Pretenses. 24000 block of Atlantic Dr., Rodanthe. Rental scam. Upon further investigation it was determined the crime occurred outside of this jurisdiction.

July 28: Larceny of Vehicle. 1000 block of Colington Road, Colington. Non-running truck reported to have been stolen from the side of the road. Under investigation.
