LCDR William Meads Mello, retired, of Kill Devil Hills, died August 17, 2022. He was born October 8, 1934. He was predeceased by parents Captain William Mello and Elizabeth Meads Mello. He was a career Navy man.

Survivors include wife Ann J. Mello and children Kim Mello (Shawn Smith) and Dr. Brad Mello (Tom Federowski).

His ashes will be returned to the sea. In lieu of flowers, toast his memory.
