The Currituck Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has named Sandi Ayres, owner of Fusion Office Business Centers, to a north council seat of the Board of Directors.

Ayres was born in Virginia Beach and moved to Currituck County with her family in 1984. She attended JP Knapp Junior High School and graduated from Currituck County High School in 1991. In 1992, she moved to northern Virginia to pursue a career in association management. In 2004, she met her now-husband Chuck Ayres and they eventually moved with their daughter Susie back to Currituck County in 2006.

She began working for an association management company based in Chesapeake in 2006. In 2009, that company created a business center division that Ayres helped build from the ground up. After 14 years with that company, she went out on her own to launch her own business center in her hometown of Currituck County.

Ayres is a strong advocate of community service. She is a Girl Scout leader, serves on the Adult Awards Committee for the Girl Scout Council of Colonial Coast, is currently chairman of Beloved Haven and serves on the boards for the Currituck Family YMCA and Small Business Connect.

Ayres and her family enjoy road trips, fishing, camping and community service, having served hundreds of meals and providing blankets, hygiene products and outwear directly to the homeless.

“Please join us in welcoming Sandi Ayres as one of our newest board members,” stated a Currituck Chamber press release.
