William “Bill” Bernard Ryan, 83, of Southern Shores, died September 21, 2022 at home.

Born in Morris County, NJ on July 24, 1939, he was the son of the late Dorothy Eggling Ryan and Bernard J. Ryan.

Survivors include wife Kathleen Harquail Ryan; sons Tim Ryan (Kelly) and Pat Ryan (Sandy); daughters Terri Rouhan and Kelly Shields (Jeff); 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchil; brother Richard Ryan (Janice); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on October 10, 2022 at Holy Redeemer by The Sea Catholic Church.  All are invited to a reception following Mass, location to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your choice of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org/), Surfrider Foundation (https://www.surfrider.org/), or any local charity of your choice.
