The Swell Art Gallery now has tiny canvases available for pick up for the Tiny Art Show, set for October 19, 2022.

TINY is an art exhibition and sale that raises money for the Fulcher Art Scholarship, which was founded by Indian Town Gallery/The Swell Art Gallery, endowed by The Outer Banks Community Foundation and is dispersed to Cape Hatteras Secondary School graduating students with the assistance of the Dare County Arts Council. It was named in honor and memory of Wayne Fulcher.

It’s called TINY because the show features 5″x5″ canvases with donated artwork on them. Each sells for $20 and all profits go to the scholarship.

Each year, the gallery distributes 200 to 300 blank canvases to professional and amateur artists, hobbyists, crafters, students and community members, to people who have been doing art for a long time and those who are new to it. Folks of all ages and skill levels participate.

The majority of participants come from Hatteras Island, but one participant was from Bend, Oregon. Four different high schools have been participating over the last three years.

Pick up the tiny canvases at the Swell Shop, Tuesday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. or Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The address for Swell gallery and shop is 46854 NC 12 in Buxton.

The canvases are due back October 5, 2022.
