Roger Benjamin Shannon, 85, of Barco, died October 1, 2022 at Elizabeth City Health & Rehabilitation. Born on Sullivan’s Island, SC on June 4, 1937, he was the son of the late Lula Rogers and Benjamin Shannon.

Roger was a veteran of the United States Air Force and Coast Guard.

Survivors include children Roger E. Shannon, Harold A. Smith (Susan), Margaret E. Taylor (Robbie) and Charles B. Shannon; four grandchildren; six grandchildren; and first wife Eleanor Mitchell.

No services are planned at this time. Inurnment will take place in Manteo Cemetery.
