Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood and single donation can save up to three lives. Local blood drive organizers ask community members to consider making a difference in the lives of others by giving blood to the American Red Cross.

Area blood drives set for this month include:

October 7 – Pitts Center in the Southern Shores and at the Virginia S. Tillett Community Center in Manteo.

October 11 and 12 – Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Kitty Hawk.

October 19 – North Carolina Aquarium in Manteo.

Appointments can be made at redcrossblood.org or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS.
