Sarasota, Fla. – Ellen Kaye Combs, 75, passed away at 3:20 p.m. on October 3, 2022, at her residence in Sarasota, Fla.

Ellen Kaye was born on September 6, 1947 in Lima, Ohio, to Delmar Leroy Snyder and Jean Ann (Diehl) Darnell. She married Robert Combs who survives in Sarasota, Fla.

Ellen Kaye was a 1965 graduate of Bath High School. She was a professional volunteer her entire life for many different organizations, as well as worked many jobs.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert Combs II; her son, Bret Combs of Celina; grandchildren, Amanda Combs of Connersville, Ind. and Bryan (Theresa) Combs of Toledo, Ohio; a great-grandchild, Arabella Combs; siblings: Shirley Purdy (Dennis) Steele of Lima, Ohio, Barbara Lynn (Dennis) Cosart of Findlay, Ohio and David Lee (Connie) Snyder of Bellevue, Ohio; sister-in-law, Susan Combs Deitsch; and many nieces and nephews.  Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a sister-in-law Nancy Combs.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m.  Rev. Kerry Taylor Snyder and Elder Susan Combs Deitsch will officiate. Burial will follow at Bluelick Cemetery, Lima.

In lieu of flowers or memorial gifts, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave. Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
