The Food Bank of the Albemarle, in partnership with Colington United Methodist Church, will visit to the parking lot of First Flight Elementary School on Thursday, October 13, 2022 from 4:30-6 p.m.
“When you drive up to the check in do not get out of your vehicle to register. A volunteer will approach you and take your information,” stated a press release from Colington UMC. “Volunteers will then load the groceries into your vehicle. Please leave sufficient room in your vehicle for us to load the groceries. If there is insufficient room you will be directed to an area where you can park and you will be responsible for loading.”
Food will be distributed to area residents who struggle to make ends meet and are in need of emergency food assistance. This may be senior citizens living on fixed incomes, disabled persons, any individual or family currently receiving food stamps and working families who are making tough choices between buying food and paying for other necessities.
The food from the mobile food pantry is free, but Dare County residency is required.
