Fall is beautiful on Hatteras Island. Members of the Rodanthe-Waves-Salvo Civic Association are excited because fun events and caring for the villages are coming up. Here’s what’s happening:
Adopt-a-Highway
Fall is always a good time for a highway clean up. The Fall NC 12 Adopt-a-Highway sweep in the villages runs through Oct. 22. Interested volunteers can contact rwscivicassociation@gmail.com.
Halloween Party
The village’s grand Halloween Party is coming back. It’s happening Oct. 29 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Rodanthe-Waves-Salvo Community Building. It’s geared for children under 12 but all are welcome. Wear costumes!
Veterans Day Decorating
Patriotic bunting will be hung on bridges and stay up Nov. 9 through 14. Volunteers are always welcome to help decorate the bridges. For more information, write rwscivicassociation@gmail.com.
Thanksgiving Pie Sale
The Rodanthe-Waves-Salvo Civic Association is very excited for its Thanksgiving Pie Sale on Wednesday, Nov. 23 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the villages’ Community Building in Rodanthe. All sorts of pies will be offered by members of the community. This fundraiser benefits the association’s Scholarship Fund and General Fund.
2nd Annual Holiday Tree Lighting
Mark calendars for Saturday, Dec. 3. This event was such fun last year with tree lighting, hot chocolate/cider, delicious treats and, of course, Santa. Join neighbors in this annual celebration.
