Rena Grace Garrish Gaskill, 87, of Ocracoke, died October 23, 2022, at her home. A native of Ocracoke Island, she was born October 19, 1935, to the late Maude Williams Garrish and Uriah Wahab Garrish.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by husband Thurston F. Gaskill, son David Fuller Gaskill and sister Helen Brittina Helpinstill.

Survivors include daughter Rena Dell Garrish; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and siblings Maude Ellen Ballance, Chloe Ann O’Neal and Robert Charles Garrish.

Graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on October 29 at the Ocracoke Community Cemetery.
