Barbara Hardesty Etheridge, 89, of Powells Point, died November 21, 2022 at home. She was born in Pasquotank County on December 23, 1932 to the late Benjamin Theodore Hardesty and Lena Conners Hardesty.

Survivors include children Darlene Beacham and Richard Etheridge (Wendy), daughter-in-law Karen Etheridge, 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother Jerry Hardesty (Martha) and other family and friends. She was predeceased by husband Roy Elson Etheridge, son Roy Lee Etheridge Sr., and siblings Jessie Morgan, Elizabeth Wittsell, Mary Armstrong, Lillian Waff, Wilma Phillips, Margaret Armstrong, Ben Hardesty and Henry Hardesty.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on November 28 at Grandy Assembly of God Church with burial in the New Hollywood Cemetery, Elizabeth City. Friends and relatives will be received Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Grandy Assembly of God Church.
