Colington, NC – Maybelle Hummer Moore, 97, of Colington, NC died Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at her home surrounded by family.

Born in Trappe, MD on August 21, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Dora Blades Hummer and William Frank Hummer. At the time of his death in 1998, she and her husband, Dallas W. Moore Sr., had celebrated 55 years of marriage.

Maybelle is survived by a sister, Shirley Adams of Trappe, MD; children, Donna Patchett of Oxford, MD, Judy Deaver of Colington, NC, Terri Nunemaker of Colington, NC, Dallas Moore Jr. of Kill Devil Hills, NC, and Frank Moore of Colington, NC; grandchildren, Tyler Patchett, Trace Patchett, Lynn Goris, Dallas Moore III, David Moore, John Moore, Beverly Mills, Theresa Smith, Shonna Richetts, Wayne Deaver, Tanya Hill, Amber Dodge, and Ashley Palomo; thirty-four great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Marlene Costello; granddaughter, Lori McLeod; and grandson, Jonathan Burton.

A graveside funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2022, in Hilltop Cemetery.
