To help high school seniors, home-schooled students and their parents understand and successfully compete for available 2023 Community Foundation scholarships, the Outer Banks Community Foundation will hold two scholarship application information sessions in January:

The first will be held Wednesday, January 18 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Dare County Manteo Public Library, located at 700 US 64 in Manteo (corner of Burnside Rd. and US 64). The second will be held Thursday, January 19 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Dare County Kill Devil Hills Public Library, located at 400 Mustian Street in Kill Devil Hills.

“This is an opportunity for students and parents to meet face to face with Community Foundation staff, receive information relative to our scholarship opportunities, and have their questions answered,” said Nandy Stuart, Community Foundation scholarship program manager.

A College of The Albemarle representative will also attend the sessions and will present the benefits of the Dare Guarantee and how students can take advantage of free tuition at the College of The Albemarle.

Students can apply online for Community Foundation scholarships during the four-week period that opens on February 6 and closes at midnight on March 6, 2023. The Community Foundation anticipates total scholarship awards to be approximately $200,000 in 2023.
