Well camouflaged in a very tight tree hollow, this Eastern screech owl (Megascops asio) has a bird’s eye view of the forest around at Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge. The owl has little chance of being spotted by its prey due to its coloring, its minimal movement and the tight fit of temporary housing.
