During the week of December 17, several Dare County schools were visited by Paul Carr of Cary. He impersonates Wilbur Wright to share the story of the Wright Brothers’ visit to Kitty Hawk in the early 1900s.
Carr was able to speak to 4th graders at Kitty Hawk Elementary School, Nags Head Elementary School and Manteo Elementary School prior to the 119th celebration of the first powered flight.
Carr is a retired Air Force colonel and retired Delta International captain. He has been sharing the Wright Brothers’ story through his impersonation of Wilbur Wright since 2003.
In addition to his visits to the elementary schools, Carr told the story at Wright Brothers National Memorial on December 17, 2022.
