Christopher Hayes Williams, 58, passed away February 27, 2023, after a courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. He was preceded in death by his father, Isaac J. Williams Sr., and his sister, Agnes M. (Lisa) Hite; brothers, Isaac J. Williams Jr., and Edward P. Williams; and his stepfather, Nasa F. Jennette.

A native of Portsmouth, VA, Chris graduated from Portsmouth Catholic High School and studied computer science at Old Dominion University. Chris worked in the hospitality industry for several years, managing hotels, eventually becoming a standards inspector for a major hotel chain. Chris went on to own and operate several businesses, including co-founding C&L Containers, Inc., one of the largest family owned and operated manufacturers of cremation and shipping containers used in the funeral industry. Chris’ true passion was computers. He developed numerous programs which were used to more efficiently run the family business.

Chris was loved and admired by all who knew him. He was blessed with a kind spirit, a loving heart, and a wicked sense of humor. Chris handled the debilitating results of MS with such grace and dignity, and never a complaint. Only showing concern and care for others, you never doubted his love. He had a smile that would light up a room and a calmness that radiated when you were in his presence. Chris has left a huge void in so many lives and will be missed by all.
