Blaze rips through Kitty Hawk house

Kitty Hawk Fire-Rescue reports that on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at 2:38 a.m., crews were dispatched to a residential structure fire in the 4800 block of Vista Lane.
On arrival, Engine 13’s crew reported that the two-story structure was heavily involved. The crew initiated an offensive fire attack until it was confirmed that all occupants had made it out of the structure safely. Crews then transitioned to a defensive operation focused on containing the fire and protecting adjacent exposures.
There were no reported injuries to occupants or firefighters during the incident.
Crews from Southern Shores, Kill Devil Hills, the North Carolina Forest Service and Dare County EMS responded and assisted crews from Kitty Hawk.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
