The Mustang Music Outreach Program’s annual spring concert will be held at The Roadside Bar & Grill in Duck on Sunday, April 23 from 3 to 6 p.m.

Presented by VusicOBX, the concert will feature Mustang Music Outreach Program student bands and musicians plus the Dare2CareOBX Shredders and local band SOULone.

“Our talented students have been working hard all winter and have some great new songs to share, so come on out and enjoy the spring weather and see them play,” said Mustang Music Outreach Program assistant music director Amanda Williams.

Admission to the event is free, but donations are requested, as the concert is also a fundraiser. All donations will go toward the Mustang Music Outreach Program’s programs and classes. There will also be a 50/50 raffle at the event.

Along with the news of the spring concert, the Mustang Music Outreach Program has some organizational changes to announce.

“You may have noticed that we have added the word ‘music’ to our name,” said Shelli Gates, Mustang Music Outreach Program president. “Our Board of Directors felt that including the word ‘music’ into Mustang Music Outreach Program was very important because we are creating community through music. Along with the name change, we are happy to announce that we have expanded our program to include all ages and merged the Motu Music Program, which includes Lisa Brickhouse’s Dare2Care OBX Shredders and her Veteran programs, into the Mustang Music Outreach Program.”

The Mustang Music Outreach Program is currently accepting new students of all ages. For more information on how to enroll, visit MustangOutreachOBX.org.
