Currituck County Schools has announced the appointment of Christian Lowe as the new J.P. Knapp Early College High School principal. A school-based committee, along with district administrators, assisted with interviewing Lowe and multiple other candidates.

Lowe earned a bachelor of science in mathematics from Salisbury University and a master of arts in educational leadership from Queens University of Charlotte. He began his career as an educator in 2005, teaching mathematics in Dare County Schools. In 2019, Lowe joined Currituck County Schools and the J.P. Knapp Spartans, first teaching precalculus and NC math 3 before moving into the role of assistant principal in 2022. He has served as the school’s interim principal since February of this year.

“Mr. Lowe has an outstanding reputation as a supportive and motivational leader, operating daily with a positive growth mindset and encouraging the same in others,” stated a Currituck County Schools press release announcing the appointment. “He has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to the Spartan community and looks forward to building upon the early college principles and promoting the success of all students.”
