The Dare County Unit of the North Carolina Retired School Personnel welcomed a special visitor at their recent meeting: Dare County Schools Superintendent Steve Basnight.

“He spoke to us during our luncheon meeting, with the positive tasks that Dare County Schools are now focusing on,” stated a DC NCRSP press release. “For those of us that have known him throughout his career, we were not surprised by the reminder he has for all who come to see him: a sign on his desk which reads, ‘Do what’s best for kids.’

“Excellent talk with Mr. Basnight! And good to see him back at home, in Dare County Schools.”
