A hands-on workshop to learn about growing cherry tomatoes for market has been set.

The workshop, to be held August 18 from 9:30 a.m. until noon at the Currituck County Extension Center in Barco, will include information on cherry tomato production techniques such as soil sampling, trellising and pruning, high tunnel production, a cherry tomato variety trial, as well as harvest and post-harvest handling.

Marketing ideas and a cherry tomato variety trial taste test will also be a part of program.

Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the program will begin at 10 a.m.
