The Currituck County Sheriff’s Office has reported the arrest of a Southern Shores man for fleeing, aggressive driving and speeding.

According to a CCSO news release, on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at around 8:38 a.m., CCSO received a careless and reckless driver call from central communications. “Deputies located a vehicle driving northbound on US 158 in Grandy at an extremely high rate of speed while passing cars in the turn lane in a reckless manner. Deputies were able to safely get behind the vehicle as it entered regular travel lanes and confirmed the violations,” stated the release.

“A traffic stop was initiated to attempt to stop the vehicle. The driver would not stop and began to flee from officers,” the release continued. “While monitoring the conditions for safety, deputies were able continue pursuit until the vehicle was stopped in front of Currituck High School when deputies used a boxed in maneuver on the suspect vehicle bringing it to a stop.”
